Rising 5 – Fashion in 3D
25.04.11
3D films have taken over cinema so it was really only a matter of time until they invaded the world of still photography. Rising 5 is it’s first excursion into fashion photography in Australia.
Melbourne based photographer, Mark Ruff, was the man behind the lens for this groundbreaking photo shoot and he is no stranger to this modern medium. Mark was the first photographer to enter the renowned APPA photography awards with 3D images and has also received accolades from the judges of the prestigious Moran Contemporary Photography Prize for his 3D works. So we are dealing with some what of a master here.
For Rising 5, which opens this Thursday night at Sydney’s ambush Gallery, he took the designs of nine emerging and influential Australian designers to never before seen dimensions.
The works of Dhini, Lui Hon, J’Aton Couture, Richard Nylon and Madam Virtue and Co. were a few of the designers whose work was visually transformed.
The art direction and styling of Simone Ling and Izabel Caligore completes the pictures, making this one of fashion’s most groundbreaking photoshoots to date.

Rising 5 opens Thursday 28th of April at the ambush gallery and continues until May 1st.
Make sure you don’t miss your chance to step into the future of fashion and photography.
