IT’S ART, AUGMENTED
See, experience and discover the art in LAYERS, an augmented reality game at The Galeries.
Artists Antra Švarcs, Georgia Hill and We Buy Your Kids (WBYK) are showcasing their creations with secret layers hidden within their art waiting for you to reveal.
Play the game and every new layer you encounter will earn you points towards a chance to win a trip for you and a friend to Mona, Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart Tasmania.
Visit us at The Galeries from July 12th to August 12th to play the game.
HOW TO PLAY
Step 1. Download The Galeries’ LAYERS app from the Apple store or Google Play Store.
Step 2. Once Installed locate the multi-layered artworks located on Ground Level at The Galeries.
Step 3. Once you’ve found the artwork, hold the LAYERS app camera over the art and using the colour palette match the correct colour filter to reveal secret hidden layers inside the art.
Earn points for each layer you reveal for your chance to win the major prize!
HOW TO EARN POINTS
There are 200 points to earn:
Secret hidden layers = a total of 140 points
Spend and Earn = 60 points. Earn BONUS points by spending $100 or more at fashion speciality stores.
The more points you earn the better the chance on winning the major draw. You need a minimum of 40 points to go into the draw. Once you’ve earned 40 points you have the chance to redeem an instant prize and go into the draw for the major prize.
Enter the draw for your chance to win a trip for you and a friend to Mona, Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart Tasmania. Prize includes airfare, accommodation and entry into Mona, Museum of Old and New Art for two people.

MEET THE ARTISTS BEHIND THE AR MAGIC:
Antra Švarcs is a Melbourne illustrator. Her heritage and name is Latvian, in English pronounced ‘un-tra.’
Her practice is a combination of hand-rendered and digital techniques, influenced by the technique and aesthetic of screen-printing. She's striving to achieve a certain poetry in her work through a mix of bold abstraction and figurativeness.

Georgia Hill is an Australian artist, specialising in contemporary, often site-specific based artworks that combine bold, monochromatic textures and lettering within experimental compositions.

We Buy Your Kids (WBYK)
WBYK is Sonny Day & Biddy Maroney.
Their work is a conversation between two individuals played out in colour, shape, texture and drawing from their shared influences – comic books, skateboarding, music and film.
Sonny and Biddy worked and exhibited individually when they met in 2001. They began combining their talents in 2006, creating screen-printed posters for Popfrenzy tours on their living room floor, and have been working as a team ever since. Today they work for clients big and small around the world.
