Now that spring is here, it’s time to take a clear-eyed look at your wardrobe. And while you may not be in the market to overhaul your entire look, finding a few key new season pieces can instantly refresh your look.

But with so much good stuff out there, it’s easy to start struggling to decipher what to actually add to your basket. Here our favourite fashion insiders share what they’re coveting this spring.

Sarah Cummings Leaf, Leaf Comms director

@sarahcummingsleaf

“Personal style is something that feels really topical for me at the moment, I recently turned 30 and found I've started to refine my style a lot. I'm less influenced by trends and look for quality pieces that will serve me for years to come. For spring I'm excited to wear some lighter layers and sandals again! Pairing chunky sandals with oversized denim is one of my favourite outfit combos.”

Sarah’s picks:

  1. Snake Printed Chunky Buckle Ballerinas, $545 | Ganni on Ground Floor

“I tend to be more minimal in my style, so I love a fun shoe to add some interest to an outfit. These flats by GANNI are the perfect shoe to take you from winter into the warmer months. Style with stocks now to stay warm and then pair with more feminine dresses in spring to add a tougher contrast.”

“Nothing says spring like gingham seersucker. This puff sleeve and side tucked dress from GANNI is one of their classic silhouettes and it's so flattering! This dress is a versatile piece that could be dressed up or down.”

“My style is usually very simple, but this spring I’m inspired to be more daring and want to start mixing different prints and patterns together to create looks that feel really joyous and fresh.”

Rachel’s picks:

  1. Jersey Crew Neck Striped T-Shirt, $12.95 | Muji on Level 1

“The late, great Jane Birkin is one of my ultimate style muses, so I’m always on the lookout for a great Breton striped tee. The beauty of striped tops is that they can be worn with anything, especially right now when clashing prints has become so popular.”

  1. New Balance 990v4 'Limestone' Sneakers, $350 | Incu Footwear and Accessories on Ground Floor

“I spend my life running between meetings, appointments, shoots and showings. Add three kids, a husband and a dog to the mix and I’m basically always on-the-go, so it’s no surprise that I’m a big fan of comfy chic dad sneakers, and no one does them better than New Balance. I've been looking to upgrade from my current pair, and this cream colourway has got me completely obsessed.”

  1. Esse Studios Linka Silk Pant, $550 | Incu Womens on Ground Floor

“These 100% silk pants look so chic and comfortable, and I love the fact that they have an elasticated waistband for ease of wear. I can imagine these would be perfect for beach days with my family, but also could be dressed up for the office or a night out with my girlfriends.”

Annie Doig, fashion stylist

“At the moment I am all about investing in high-quality wardrobe staples that will elevate my everyday style. In my opinion there is nothing better in this world than a really great white t-shirt or a pair of denim jeans that fit perfectly. But because my clothes can err on the side of boring, I am also always looking for really fun accessories that can add interest and a pop of colour to my outfits!”

  1. Mira Henley Waffle Top, $120 | Nudie Jeans on Ground Floor

“Waffle tops are one of my all time favourite comfy-cute options, and are the perfect trans-seasonal base layer for this inbetween weather. This one from Nudie is very girl next door vibes, which I love.”

  1. Clean Eileen 90s Stone Jeans, $250 | Nudie Jeans on Ground Floor

“I have a vendetta against stretchy jeans so the fact that these have a wide leg made in rigid denim makes them a winner for me. Bonus points for being made out of organic, recycled cotton and featuring a satisfying '90s style stonewash.”

  1. Marni Tall Tote Bag, $1375 | Incu Footwear and Accessories on Ground Floor

“This bright-pink bag with all-over calf textile lining and a clear cover on top is so fun, I can’t even deal. I love its soft, unstructured shape that can be effortlessly styled with so many outfits and the fact that it’s big enough to carry my laptop and other essentials!”

“For me this Spring it’s all about sleek summer-in-the-city style. To achieve this I'll be mixing fun, casual pieces with tried-and-tested tailoring. Think: a vintage t-shirt and a great pair of pleated pants. Or alternatively, a great oversized blazer over a flowy white summer dress. ”

  1. Grace Bag Mini, $885 | A.P.C on Ground Floor

“A classic leather bag goes a long way, and this is the perfect size for running around town, allowing me to take a hands-free approach. Brown leather is so versatile, and the gold hardware adds a nice touch of sparkle to any outfit.”

  1. Drapey Melange Shorts, $345 | Ganni on Ground Floor

“These tailored shorts are the ultimate workwear staple when the weather warms up. Style with a matching blazer or waistcoat for maximum polish.”
