The long awaited Black Star Pastry is back, in a brand new home.
Previously nestled in Books Kinokuniya, on Level 1 - their original CBD home, Black Star's new chapter begins on the Ground Floor, just off the Pitt Street entrance.
Unveiling an all-new cake shop from Saturday 1st August, it offers an improved location, hours and cake collection experience.
With a white facade that seemingly peels back to reveal their iconic range of cakes, the store takes design cues from the turning page of a book - a nod to Kinokuniya. With online orders soaring, the new store offers a dedicated cake collection point, streamlining pick-up process and allowing people to bypass coffee & cake queues. The store also has a dedicated seating area located on Level 1, that beautifully matches the store front below.
The store is catering to the morning Pitt Street commute with Little Marionette coffee, croissants and custard flans. For the lunch crowd, Black Star’s limited-edition Black Truffle Toastie will be available. Already a favourite in their Newtown and Rosebery stores, this homemade potato focaccia bread with rosemary and button mushrooms, oozes with black truffle bechamel, smoked ham and Gruyere cheese. Hungry yet?
The full range of cakes including the world's most Instagrammable cake, the Strawberry Watermelon Cake, will be available. However, the store opening also coincided with the drop of a brand new sweet: The Peanut, Chocolate and Caramel Tart layers salted peanut caramel with milk and dark chocolate ganache on an almond shortbread base, garnished with caramelised rice puff, now available to purchase.
You will want to check the store out and marvel at the design and the deliciousness Black Star offers.
In these unprecedented times, there is really nothing cake cannot fix, so we are very excited to welcome back Black Star Pastry!
