Who knew there was such a thing as World Chocolate Day? Not just an excuse to indulge (well, it’d be rude not to), it also gives us the perfect opportunity to tap into the colour trend of the season: a deliciously rich shade of chocolate brown.

It’s one of the easiest hues to incorporate into your wardrobe, sitting halfway between a neutral and all-out colour, and judging by the recent autumn/winter runways, it promises to be everywhere this season. There were sheer blouses and voluminous fur coats in the hue at Saint Laurent, delicious chocolate slingbacks at Stella McCartney, and dramatic deep brown capes at Jil Sander. Needless to say, we’re using World Chocolate Day as our excuse to get on board. Here, we’ve rounded up our favourite chocolate-hued pieces you can incorporate into your own winter wardrobes that are as delicious as the real thing.

Tailored enough to look put together, slouchy enough to look impossibly cool. Wear it over a turtleneck with the matching trousers and black loafers for a minimum effort, maximum impact ensemble.

Everyone needs a chic crossbody bag that’s as sleek as it is spacious. This brushed leather one from A.P.C, which looks like a square of dark chocolate, could be good enough to eat.

A blue striped shirt is a wardrobe staple, but what about a brown one? We’re wearing this roomy version with black trousers and a sweater tied over our shoulders for the perfect take on modern prep.

A relaxed pair of work pants is the wardrobe staple everyone needs. In the most delectable shade of chocolate brown, this pair is built to last courtesy of Carhartt’s signature reinforced double knees.

If these New Balance sneakers were a flavour, they’d be mocha. With shades of dark chocolate, latte beige and vanilla, they’re as scrumptious to wear as they are to look at.
