Experience the vibrant spirit of Lunar New Year at The Galeries, where innovative cuisine, leading fashion, and unique lifestyle products come together to create a rich tapestry of festive cheer and cultural expression.

Lunar New Year 2025, celebrated on the 29th of January, marks the beginning of the Year of the Snake. This festive period, also known as the Spring Festival, is a time for family reunions, cultural traditions, and hopes for good fortune. Celebrations include a reunion dinner on Lunar New Year’s Eve, featuring symbolic dishes like dumplings and fish. Homes are decorated with red lanterns and paper cuttings to invite good luck. Firecrackers are lit, and red envelopes filled with money are exchanged to bring prosperity. The Year of the Snake symbolises wisdom and transformation, encouraging introspection and growth.

This Lunar New Year, we are excited to feature the dynamic and immersive works of Alistrated for our Artist in Residence program. This follows the captivating visualisations by Mikaela Stafford for Spring, and the vibrant pieces by Beastman for Christmas. ‘Alistrated’, aka Alice Tran, brings to life different perspectives of the snake, exploring the four cardinal directions and associated natural elements which represent different perspectives on life's journey.
