Following the success of our ARTPARTS campaign with our Light Arc sculpture, the Galeries is now home to another piece by Australian contemporary artist, Elliot Routlegde aka FUNKSULL.

On the walls of the laneway from Pitt Street, where Jimmy’s Recipe Malaysian restaurant is located, the Confetti artwork sits across the walls.

Elliot is best known for his public art installations and building a centrepiece that is impactful and meaningful to the precinct visitors over the course of a year. Amongst the art, a statement of works will display its title, ‘Confetti Laneway’ and the meaning behind its creation.

‘Through the use of abstracted shapes and hand cut patterns, the artwork aims to appear like a freeze frame of confetti being thrown into the space. As if we have stopped the confetti mid motion, and zoomed in to reveal their scale, and minimise our own.’

The laneway wall art was installed from Monday 15th July is a destination for picture taking, a meeting, point and form an element of celebration when entering The Galeries, being surrounded by ‘confetti’.
