Design In All Forms
10 Mar 2019
The 2019 Sydney Design Festival will take place from March 1-10, showcasing the unique designers that make up the colourful Australian design scene.
Further celebrating design in all its forms, The Galeries in Sydney’s CBD is home to a diverse mix of stores across fashion, lifestyle, art and dining, with each delivering unique and creative offerings to consumers.
The Galeries provides an all-inclusive platform that invites creatives of all kinds to showcase their products, making them more accessible to consumers.
In the foodie space, Galeries retailer T-Totaler is seen as one of the leading bespoke tea brands in its category. The creative brain-child of two local Sydney-siders in search of the perfect cup of tea, T-Totaler now has over 30 loose-leaf tea blends on offer. The botanical infused range are works of art in themselves with some even including real gold flecks in the blend.
The perfect accompaniment to tea is a carefully crafted dessert from The Grounds of The City, located on Ground Floor of The Galeries. With a team of creative pastry chefs designing one-of-a-kind desserts, there’s no passing up one of their delicious creations that have quickly become a signature sweet treat.
Further supporting the expanding fashion scene, throughout The Galeries consumers will find an eclectic mix of fashions. Showcasing Australian home-grown talents, colourful patterns and prints can be spotted in the windows of Australian designer Gorman while Melbourne based designer Alpha60 delivers classic styles and cuts with a uniquely ‘sophisticated quirk’.
Bringing a glimpse of the international fashion scene to The Galeries, Incu delivers on global fashions with pieces from over 100 designers to be found in-store. A fellow foreigner, Springcourt’s Parisian designs are located on Ground Floor of The Galeries.
Paying homage to designers of past and present Kinokuniya Books on level 2 is home to over 300,000 books, including many of favourite designer reads. For an inspiring afternoon, Kinokuniya’s impressive design section is a must with the likes of Beaumaris Modern and Chanel: The Largerfeld Campaigns available in-store.
Showcase work of designers, both emerging and established, this year The Galeries are excited to be supporting a new group of up and coming designers.
In partnership with Billy Blue College of Design, three of their most talented design graduates will have their work on display in Galeries retailer, 124 Shoes. Renowned for their custom design shoes, along with The Galeries, they will be housing the designer’s bespoke collection pieces during the Sydney Design Festival 1-10 March 2019. Read more here.
