Books Kinokuniya Origami Dinosaurs Record Attempt
14 Jun 2019
Books Kinokuniya Sydney will attempt to become the Guinness Record holder for the world’s largest display of origami dinosaurs!
All dinosaurs will be made within their Craft Month, from 1st to 30th of June 2019.
The chosen origami dinosaur is the Apatosaurus (as pictured below), designed by Michael G. LaFosse for Tuttle Publishing (distributed by New South Books).
The origami dinosaurs will be displayed in their in-store gallery which will house an origami folding table where people can create and contribute. Invitations for participation from local organisations and schools have been distributed.
Every person who contributes to this record attempt will be credited and have their name listed on our website! Submissions of origami dinosaurs will close at 6pm on Sunday June 30th.
The hanging display of origami dinosaurs will be completed in-store by the 2nd of July, with final display and tally count for the record attempt on the 3rd of July.
The target to beat is 2,098 origami dinosaurs!
If they beat the current Guinness World Record for the largest display of origami dinosaurs, Books Kinokuniya, Tuttle Publishing and New South Books will collectively donate $1,000 to their chosen charity, The Indigenous Literacy Foundation!
