Curvy @ the Galeries is Officially Open

The teasers are finished and the final artworks have been revealed. Stage one of Curvy @ The Galeries is on display so get down there now!

Last night the Galeries foyer was transformed. The work began early, decking out the boxes in the goodies that the eight feature artists sent us, including a step by step creation video from Melisa Haslam and the amazing 2000 frame water colour art motion video from Irina Dakeva as well as some of the infamous Fafi’s big brand collaborations with Adidas and Mac cosmetics.

Courtney Brims transformed her art works into a seasonal Christmas tree and Noferin sent us some mock up creatures from her foreign land Carrara Island. Kaitlin Beckett took us behind the scenes of her artwork revealing the tools of her trade and Genevieve Gauckler, Rila Alexander and Amandine Urruty stunned us with an array of their artwork through the years.

The work continued until late into the night and by the early hours of this morning the oversized versions of the limited edition prints, now up for grabs, were suspended from the ceiling. Odd creatures from far off lands, provocative femmes and whimsical girls are now towering above the Galeries for all to see and enjoy.

And don’t forget you could walk away with the original print just by filling out the entry form and dropping it in the boxes in the void.

Stage two of Curvy @ the Galeries is in the works as we speak, so stay tuned for our walk around tour of the rest of the Galeries featuring the Curvy art heroines who will be transforming some of your favourite Galeries stores with their unique art works.
